Affibody has successfully entered into, as well as finalized, several commercial collaborations that validate the Affibody® technology. These partnerships yield short-term cash flow, commercial and scientific validation, visibility of the Affibody® technology platform, and offer the potential for significant long-term revenues when milestones are reached and royalties from sold products are obtained.

Biovitrum
-Collaboration agreement with the aim of developing new targeted therapeutics for inflammation and autoimmune diseases.
In 2009, Affibody entered collaboration with Biovitrum, where Biovitrum gains access to the proprietary technology platforms of Affibody® molecules, as well as the unique albumin-binding technology for pharmaceuticals development. The agreement consists of a defined protein target development collaboration and a product license agreement.

GE Healthcare
- Research agreement in molecular imaging
Under a research agreement announced in 2006, Affibody will develop Affibody® molecules for three disease targets. GE Healthcare has the exclusive option to take any licenses required for developing and commercializing imaging agents resulting from this collaboration. Affibody retains all rights for use of the selected Affibody® molecules outside the scope of in vivo diagnostic and medical imaging.

National Cancer Institute- Collaboration in imaging and targeted therapy
In 2005, Affibody entered into a collaboration with the National Cancer Institute, USA. NCI's Dr. Jacek Capala at the Radiation Oncology branch conjugates the engineered Affibody® molecules with various detection molecules to evaluate them for non-invasive tumor and metastasis visualization and therapy. In the most advanced project, Affibody® molecules binding the HER2 cancer target have been labeled with F-18 and successfully used in PET molecular imaging studies.

Merck Sharp & Dohme- Technology evaluation agreement on molecular imaging in drug developmentIn 2008, Affibody entered a technology evaluation agreement with Merck Sharp & Dohme regarding the use of Affibody® molecules in drug development.

GE Healthcare
- Collaboration to develop affinity ligands for large-scale affinity purification
The product MabSelect SuRe™ was launched by GE Healthcare Bio-Sciences AB in 2004, as a result from the collaboration with Affibody for the development of affinity ligands for large-scale bioseparation.
Agilent Technologies
- Collaboration to develop affinity ligands for sample preparation
Affibody has developed customized Affibody® ligands for certain target proteins for Agilent's line of proteomic sample preparation products. Agilent’s product Human-14 Multiple Affinity Removal System, includes in total five Affibody® molecules and was launched in 2007.

Finnzymes
- Collaboration to develop affinity ligands for Hot Start PCR
Finnzymes and Affibody have collaborated to develop an Affibody® molecule to be used in a Hot Start PCR application. The resulting product, Phusion™ Hot Start High-Fidelity DNA Polymerase, was launched by Finnzymes in 2006.

Abcam
- Distribution agreement
In 2006, Affibody signed a distribution agreement with Abcam to promote and distribute products from Affibody’s portfolio of research reagents worldwide.
